Buy A Pair, Give a Pair

Warby Parker is a fashion brand with a business model for philanthropy. The eyewear company commits to the philosophy: do good.

The company tenaciously adheres to this philosophy of doing good in many ways, from its ‘buy a pair, give a pair’ program to its carbon-neutral production of glasses. Warby Parker proudly represents a growing community of companies that believe in the importance of philanthropy and reducing the impact of its environmental footprint. Warby Parker’s business model includes a program that gives a pair of eyeglasses to someone in need anytime someone buys a pair of its glasses. Although the ‘buy one, give one’ concept is not unique to Warby Parker – other companies, like TOMS Shoes, practice the ‘buy one, give one’ model – glasses are necessary in improving the state of many lower-income communities.  The company also pairs with a nonprofit company named VisionSpring, which educates and trains low-income men and women to sell affordable glasses in their community, which helps jump-start their economy.

This company is a great example of a company that believes in the ideal of corporate responsibility. It strives to maintain a business model that can be profitable while it donates glasses and expertise to those in need.

It doesn’t hurt that their glasses are affordable and stylish.
