Do The Work

Why do you know how to read? You’re reading this right now, but do you actually realize the amount of work that went into learning how to read? Years of spelling it out as your second grade teacher stood over you.

But it happened. And you can read.

You put in the work. The blood, sweat, and tears to get you to where you are today. Similar to your job, you put in the work to improve and learn. That’s the key to amazing employee engagement – participation.

You have to participate. When you think about employee engagement & your good job, you should never underestimate your role as the employee. Engagement works like a relationship, it’s about the give and the take. The more you choose to participate, the more engaged you’ll be in your job.

So bring it! Dive right in! And if you still feel like you don’t belong – then it’s time to move on.

We were inspired by Seth Godin’s blog post, On Doing The Work.
